Role at Old Street WorkRooms: Community Lead
1. Tell us a little about your role – what do you do day-to-day at Old Street WorkRooms?
At Old Street WorkRooms, my role is varied and hands-on, focused on ensuring the day-to-day operations of the space run smoothly.
Each day begins with opening the building and preparing the environment to create a welcoming and professional atmosphere. A key aspect of my role involves meeting and greeting clients, ensuring they feel welcome and offering any assistance they might need during their visit.
I’m also responsible for coordinating the booking and setup of meeting rooms for both internal and external clients. This includes making sure each space is clean, well-organised, and fully equipped for professional use. I regularly handle a range of communications, whether via phone or in person, helping to address questions and provide support.
Supporting our internal clients is another important part of my role. I assist with tasks such as preparing documents and presentations, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and overseeing collections and deliveries. I also take pride in maintaining the building to a high standard. Through regular building checks and walk-throughs, I allocate any issues to our cleaning or maintenance teams as needed.
Additionally, I organise furniture and related items in accordance with client needs and set up show offices to a high standard to support sales and drive revenue. I also carry out weekly fire tests and lift safety checks as part of our health and safety procedures.
Beyond the practical tasks, I collaborate closely with the wider team to meet both personal and business goals, contributing to the overall success and positive atmosphere at Old Street WorkRooms.
